Joël Jaquier was born on the 9th of march 1983 and started skiing at the age of 3 years old. He joined the geneva freestyle Ski Club at the age of 14 and joined the National Ski Team as a junior in 1999.
He reached a good professional level in 2003, at that period was injured during a competition. By th end of the year he obtained the title of Swiss Halfpipe Champion.
End of 2003 he qualified for the European and World championships but again injured himself dury a competition and unable to participate competitions until the end of 2004. He classed 3rd in the Swiss "Jumps & Bumps" Freestyle Skiing with a minimum of training.
Due to insufficiant funding and better professional prospects elsewhere, he stopped his career with an honorable collection of 6 medals in Swiss Championships such as 1 title in 2002 and 1 Swiss Halfpipe Champion title in 2003.
